What an incredible way to celebrate 50 years of HOSA!
The HOSA International Leadership Conference officially opened with music, lights, and the Parade of Flags representing members from around the world. As a founding state member since 1976, New Mexico proudly joined the celebration of five decades of leadership, service, and healthcare excellence.
Students heard inspiring stories from HOSA leaders, scholarship recipients, distinguished alumni, and industry partners. The highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Chris Norton, whose remarkable journey of overcoming a life-changing football injury inspired thousands of future healthcare professionals to persevere through challenges and pursue their goals.
Following the session, GMCS students had the opportunity to meet Chris Norton and take photos with him. The evening concluded with students returning to their hotels to review, study, and prepare for the competitions ahead.

We are grateful to ESS for hosting and for their continued partnership and support!
Today, students and advisors from McKinley Academy, Crownpoint High School, and Miyamura High School are headed to Indianapolis, Indiana to represent Gallup-McKinley County Schools at the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference!
These outstanding students have already proven themselves among the best in New Mexico, and now they will compete, learn, network, and showcase their talents on the international stage alongside thousands of future healthcare professionals from around the world. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, leadership, and commitment to pursuing careers in healthcare.
Wish them luck!

Reminding you to save the date for LANL Foundation's virtual training this Thursday, June 11th, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. This training is free, and all mandated reporters are encouraged to attend.

We are so proud of our students for their participation. They made the event entertaining for everyone, and our talented winners were recognized with prizes for their outstanding performances! Thank you to everyone who shared their time and effort to make this conference possible. Opportunities like this leave a lasting impact on our students. They are all looking forward to next year!

Thank you to Hilton Garden Inn for hosting the event. Thank you to our supporting businesses for encouraging our students to continue to reach their full potential.

Students gave colorful, clear business presentations. Your branded materials, like stickers and pins, really elevated each business identity. Great work representing your schools and showing what young entrepreneurship looks like in action.
We also announced the winners of our Food Truck Cook Off! Congratulations to Ramah High School for winning first place with the Mustang Burger Company. Our runner-up was Miyamura, and Tohatchi High School placed third. Fantastic job to all our participating students! The future of food trucks is in great hands!
