Gallup-McKinley County Schools is proud to help keep children healthy, nourished, and ready to enjoy their summer by providing FREE summer meals at parks and schools throughout our district.

Meal dates, times, and locations change throughout the summer, so be sure to check the most up-to-date schedule before heading out.

Summer School will be starting soon for GMCS! Summer School hours will be from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm starting July 7th. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided to students, along with transportation to and from school. For any questions and additional information, contact your student's school.

What an unforgettable week for our GMCS HOSA members at the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana!
Representing Gallup McKinley County Schools were 22 outstanding students, including 12 from McKinley Academy, 5 from Miyamura High School, and 5 from Crownpoint High School, who competed alongside more than 15,000 middle school, high school, and postsecondary students from across the United States and around the world.
Our students demonstrated exceptional knowledge, professionalism, and leadership throughout the week. Congratulations to our outstanding competitors:

Beyond the competitions, students participated in leadership sessions, explored the international health career expo, connected with healthcare professionals, and built friendships with HOSA members from across the globe. They represented Gallup McKinley County Schools, New Mexico, and their communities with professionalism, integrity, and pride. The memories, friendships, leadership experiences, and personal growth gained throughout the week will stay with these students for years to come. We are incredibly proud of each participant for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing careers in healthcare.
As these future health professionals continue their educational and career journeys, one thing is certain... their future is so bright, they have to wear shades!

Day 3 at the TSA National Conference!
Today, our two Robotics teams from McKinley Academy are hard at work making final adjustments, troubleshooting, and preparing their robots for national-level competition.
Behind every competition run are countless hours of design, building, testing, problem-solving, and teamwork. Watching our students collaborate under pressure, analyze challenges, and make real-time improvements is a reminder that STEM is more than technology—it is perseverance, resilience, and innovation in action.
These students are competing against some of the best teams from across the nation and proudly representing McKinley Academy, Gallup-McKinley County Schools, New Mexico TSA, and our entire community.
No matter the outcome, we are incredibly proud of their dedication, professionalism, and determination.
We wish our Robotics teams the very best as they take the competition floor!

Yesterday, the Twin Lakes Bahastl’ah Chapter honored Joan Nez, a Gallup-McKinley County Schools retiree and Twin Lakes Chapter Vice President, for her many years of service and commitment to our community.
Joan has been with Gallup-McKinley County Schools for over 20 years. She has been a wonderful part of our school district. We extend our heartfelt congratulations on her retirement and wish her continued happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter. Today marks the beginning of competitive events at the 2026 Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference in National Harbor, Maryland! A total of 42 students from McKinley Academy, Tohatchi High School, and Tohatchi Middle School are representing Gallup-McKinley County Schools on the national stage, competing against some of the best STEM and technology students from across the country.
These students have already demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation, leadership, teamwork, and technical skills to earn their place at Nationals. Now, they have the opportunity to showcase their talents and represent their schools, their communities, New Mexico, and GMCS with pride.

No matter the results, we are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that brought them here.
